Why are Ex-Muslim Associations so important?
The vast majority of Islamic “Scholars” promote the idea that the penalty for leaving Islam should be death. In many countries, they have lobbied governments to make laws banning apostasy with severe penalties including capital punishment. Even in countries with laws protecting freedom of speech and freedom of religion, many Islamist leaders encourage Muslims to inflict severe punishment on their peers for leaving Islam.
Most people who call themselves Muslims were born into the faith. As children, many are beaten if they don’t recite the Qur’an and say their prayers five times a day. This early indoctrination causes most Muslims to fear critical thinking about Islam. When they discover the violent teachings of the Qur’an such as verses 2:191, 4-56, 4:89, 8:12, 4:47, 8:12, 3:151, many of them suffer mental stress, a condition known as cognitive dissonance. They have no desire to follow the violent teachings of Islam but they are hesitate express themselves because they fear being abandoned by family and friends, or even killed.
Ex Muslim Associations provided a safe place to to explore freedom of thought. Muslims can find like-minded people for companionship and support. They can learn how to protect themselves from those who may be threatening them. Some even find partners for marriage and creating their own families.
We should all support Ex-Muslim Associations, whether Muslim, Ex-Muslim, liberal or conservative. Here are some ways you can help.

Write a comment or send an email to AishaAkbar71@gmail.com with information about other Ex-Muslim Associations. Include a link and I will update this list.
Consider donating to these groups to help them spread freedom of thought and provide protection for their members.
Call out Regressive Liberals who try to silence criticism of Islamic ideology that contradicts basic human rights.
